You’re invited to our event! 🎉 (and more news...)

By Sarah Cronk

Like all of the nation and Commonwealth, we were saddened by the passing of Queen Elizabeth II after a long, dutiful and steadfast 70-year reign. However one feels about the monarchy, there is no denying that her death marks the end of 96 years of wisdom, knowledge, experience and service to our country.

This newsletter is the first of the new Carolean era!

You’re invited!

We're thrilled to announce the first "Chalk Eastbourne Presents" event which takes place on Thursday 20th October, 5.30pm-8pm (and it's free!).

Chalk Eastbourne Presents offers you a chance to be inspired, build your skills and broaden your community within digital. Our first evening of digital inspiration will be presented by Russ Miles, who helps people thrive in one of the harshest and potentially impactful working environments: software system engineering.

Join us for a drink, listen to Russ’s talk, and meet fellow digital enthusiasts! We'd love to meet you there and all are welcome - digital professionals, students, educators.

What else is on?

  • If you're more into partying and lederhosen than fireworks, Oktoberfest also takes place at Eastbourne's Winter Gardens on 1st October from 6pm. It's the biggest party night of the year.

  • Love wildlife photography? Drusillas Park is hosting a Zoo Photography Day on 9th October where you can go behind the scenes inside some of the enclosures.

  • If all the partying is too much, work it off (or be inspired to work it off!) at Beachy Head Marathon, one of the biggest off-road marathons in the UK. The Marathon, Ultra, Half and 10k take place over the weekend of 22nd-23rd October.
