King & McGaw is one of the UK’s leading fine art publishers, operating both a retail website and working closely with museums and galleries creating bespoke products for trade.

Based in Newhaven, East Sussex, we design and produce everything on site. We work closely with our museum clients with a continuous emphasis on colour accuracy and product quality.

The design studio is at the heart of the process. We are responsible for formatting product layouts, colour matching imagery and keeping our designs new and innovative.

Responsibilities:

You will work as part of the Design Team, formatting and colour matching products for our museum clients. We are looking for someone with a working knowledge of InDesign, who is ready to learn and adapt, and can help expand the capacity of our existing team.

We manage a high volume of briefs at any one time. The role of an artworker is primarily creating products to set specifications and managing multiple project deadlines.

We require someone with creative talent, but also a keen appreciation of process and organisation.

Experience:

  • Good working knowledge of InDesign and familiarity with other Adobe CC apps

  • Knowledge of image file formats including a good understanding of image resolution and colour management for print and digital

  • Ability to artwork to a specific brief and supplement with design ability

  • Experience of creating layouts for printed products

  • Experience of using templates and adhering to brand guidelines

  • Highly accurate with meticulous attention to detail

  • Ability to work to strict deadlines and manage multiple projects at once

For this role there will be a first-round practical task, to be completed remotely. Successful applicants will then be invited to a second stage face-to-face interview, held at our offices.

This job is based solely at our design studio in Newhaven.

Salary offer will be dependent on experience.
