By Sarah Cronk, April 2024

With the weather just about improving, we've happily been out and about more than usual at various events. Keep reading to find out more...

Young people engage with future employers

Big Futures Show

Chalk Eastbourne was pleased to be in attendance at this year's BIG Futures Show exhibition that took place on Tuesday 23rd April at Eastbourne Sports Park.

Representing the creative, digital, and tech sector under the flag of Chalk Eastbourne were ambassadors from CloudConnX, Calibre Marketing, and Switchplane, all ready to talk to keen local talent about how to get into careers in the sector.

Other local CDT companies Zoonou, Southern IT Networks, Firebrand, AdasGold Brand Photography+, Custard, Ditzy Media, DV8 Sussex, and Media Attention Events were also exhibiting at the event, helping to show young people the diverse roles available in Eastbourne.

It was great speaking to students from across the South East who had journeyed to Eastbourne for the careers event. We hope to have inspired them for the future!

Wayfinder Woman

In addition to being out at the BIG Futures Show, this month also saw Donna Fielder and Sarah Cronk presenting on Chalk Eastbourne and Eastbourne DigiFest at the Wayfinder Woman Work and Wellbeing Day.

The event featured a range of speakers discussing "AI: Friend or Foe", covering the AI revolution, AI in the workplace, deep fakes, the needs of creatives, and the future of innovative learning. All in all, a really interesting event on the impact of AI on work.

To follow, Sarah Bird and Lewis Hobden, who head up our Chalk Connect sessions, will be visiting the University of Brighton this afternoon to spread the word about Eastbourne's growing CDT sector and the events we hold here.
