With the festive season upon us, we'll be at The Dolphin on South Street in Eastbourne from 4-6pm on Thursday 15th December for a Christmas drink. 🎄
If you're in the area and would like to pop by and join Donna and Sarah for a little Chalk gathering, please drop us a line so we can reserve enough space.
(We're friendly, we promise!)
Eastbourne DigiFest is coming...!
Yes, the rumours that we started are all true. We are holding an event to celebrate all that is digital in Eastbourne next spring!
Eastbourne will come together to showcase the best of digital in our town. Whether you’re a digital professional, a local business, a student taking your first steps on the career ladder, or a company looking for a new tech partner, Eastbourne DigiFest is for you. Be inspired, learn something new, and discover our town.
There will be a range of talks, workshops, an exhibition, and tours, enabling those from outside Eastbourne to come and see our thriving town for themselves. We believe the Sunshine Coast is the best place to live, work and play in the country. We have a strong enterprise culture and whenever there’s a barrier to business, Eastbourne overcomes it.
We have had lots of interest so far from a range of companies and individuals who are up for being involved in some way, but now we need to firm up those commitments.
If you're a local business, freelancer or professional, we ask you:
🚨 Can you speak at, exhibit at, and/or sponsor the event? 🚨
Do you offer work experience?
We often have students contacting us regarding work experience within digital. If this is something you offer, please can you let us know? We’d love to point keen students in the right direction.
If you don't yet offer work experience, we would like to draw your attention towards the Talent Accelerator programme, led by Kim Byford. Please see her presentation here for more details.
The big takeaway for us is that work experience doesn't have to mean just one lucky student in your workplace for a week - it can take many forms, especially now so many people are working remotely.
We're inspired by the idea of creating a project which can be taken on by multiple students in multiple schools to give them the opportunity to try what it's like to work as a freelancer!
