Field Sales Representative

Lightning Fibre

Up to £40,000 OTE - 40 hours/week

The role

The principal purpose of this role is to get sales leads (name, email, phone) for our sales team to convert into customers; we do this on the doorstep, at train stations and other private sites, and events. You will positively promote our company, increasing awareness of Lightning Fibre in our target areas, using a range of techniques, to deliver the leads required for sales team to generate our revenue targets.

Our friendly, professional in-house community engagers have excellent interpersonal skills, a strong background in sales, tenacity and the ability to provide good quality information on a range of services.

Ultimately, a high-quality community engager is someone who can relate to and connect with people face-to-face and promote the company’s services without coming across as aggressive or pushy.

Key task and responsibilities

  • Good product knowledge.

  • Travel to specific canvassing locations (within an approx 40-mile radius) in Lightning Fibre branded cars, fuel provided.

  • Approaching and talking to people in shopping centres, on the street, and at their homes about the company.

  • Obtaining personal contact information.

  • Making cold calls from the office.

  • Answering questions about the company and service.

  • Maintaining a professional appearance and behaviour.

  • Meeting targets.

  • Letter/leaflet dropping (door to door).

  • Attending events, often at weekends.

  • Careful and accurate recording of personal details.

  • Adhering to data protection regulations.

  • Produce accurate time sheets.

  • Community Action, for example litter picking and beach cleans.

  • Cleaning street cabinets and removing graffiti.

  • Recruiting and training new engagers.

Skills and competencies required

  • Sales experience preferable.

  • Experience within a customer-facing role / working with the public.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills.

  • Tenacity.

  • Positive attitude.

  • Ability to sell and influence.

  • Ability to work after-hours and on weekends.

  • Ability to travel extensively.

  • Ability to work outdoors.

  • Ability to walk and stand for long periods.

  • Full driving licence.

Lightning Fibre was established in 2018 and is the leading local alternative network provider of symmetric full fibre broadband in East Sussex. We build and operate our own network from our headquarters in Polegate.

Our broadband network can supply our standard installed customers with anything up to 10 Gigabits in both download and uploads.

We are a community orientated network operator, whose aim is to significantly upgrade our region’s broadband infrastructure. By providing local jobs and keeping local £’s in the areas we serve, we act as a vital enabler to grow our digital local economy.
